Sekiro is not a soulslike
Let me explain why Sekiro shadows die twice is not your typical from soft souls like
If your like me and you've just completed your Elden ring playthrough and cant get enough of from software games, then you've probably thought of diving into all other from software games. I had this friend of mine on discord who kept yapping how good Sekiro is ,so i decided to jump in, But here is where i felt things were not going to be the same, first of all theres the usual souls like stuff like dogs, resting at graces, bonfires etc. ,some enemies are familiar like dogs ,but other than these few things ,I would say the game departs from being a souls like very quickly.THE COMBATNo other game has perfected the parrying mechanic like Sekiro, The sword play is just so satisfying ,the game forces you to learn the combat ,I mean you can cheese some bosses but this also depends on on you horning in your timing and reaction to strikes. The most satisfying thing is how good a successful parry feels, don't get it mixed up though, theres a difference between holding block and successfully deflecting(parrying0the parrying mechanic is so good such that it has inspired many other games to try and replicate it e.g. lies of P , Some things might help you during combat like the shinobi prosthetics but other than that you need to git good with the swordWe cannot forget about the combat skill tree, Ive honestly never seen such a good way to deflect thrust attacks like the Mikiri counter, gosh dang it is that thing so good.GAME MECHANICSIn sekiro if you loose your coins ( this would be the equivalent of Runes in Elden ring or souls in dark souls)they are gone and theres no way to pick them up. You can of course reduce the coins you loose by purchasing coin purses.Ooh and yeah its even in the games Title, if you die during gameplay you have the chance to resurrect (this is tied to the story)hence Shadows die twice. The main character also doesn't have stats, you know the typical magic, faith ,strength ,dex builds that other Souls likes have, In sekiro its you and t...
